Gold Coast Day 1

Took the budget airline Scoots to Gold Coast. The flight is actually not bad as the seats are not that cramp.

Reached Gold Coast airport at 8am. After collected our bags, we proceed to the public toliet to brush our teeth as we took an overnight flight. After that, we proceed to collect our rented hertz car, which is Toyota 4 wheel drive large car. This car is the largest that I ever drive and need time to get use to it. We also proceed to the convenience store to get the $2 per day data sim card for our trip in here. We tried to put that card into the TP-link MIFI that I brought over there, but it is not supported. Thus in the end we use our friend’s android phone for this SIM card and use tethering to share that wifi among us. We also bought the GO card at the airport for our transport usage while in Gold Coast. Sunshine Coast is our 1st stop over for lunch. We drove all the way there non-stop and reached there in 2hrs 30mins. Walking around the shopping centre, we found a lot of nice restaurant serving western and Mexico foods. After much pounding on what to eat, we finally settle down for the western food.

We ordered Calamari with chips, Salad and Steak burger with chips. As the portion is very larger, we shared among 4 of us.

This calamari is good as the sotong is very fresh and tender. 🙂

After lunch, we bought some roasted chicken (my favourite), pumpkin soup and some mineral water from the coles for our dinner. I take away an Ice-blended coffee to drink on the way to Maryborough, which is our stop over for a night stay for the day. After driving for another 2hrs, we reached our accommodation for tonight, which is the Comfort Inn Motel.
