Today is our day 4 in Hokkaido. As usual, wake up early for our breakfast buffet. This is our day 4 and this is my 4th breakfast buffet, so I’m getting a bit sick of the food here. I did not eat much and then left the hotel for our next destination. First we went to the Ninja Village Noboribetsu Data Judaimura. This is the theme park featuring the Edo period, one of the most attractive era in Japanese history. There are traditional games, activities, theatres, street performances and more. There is a ninja maze, which is very fun and special. In the maze, we are required to walk through the maze, which is used by ninja to do their training. Some part of the maze have floor that is tilted sideway and some have the floor that will rotate or vibrate. It is very interesting….
The 1st show we went is the Ninja show. This is quite interesting as the old man acting in the show is very funny. They also used a lot of trap doors in the show too.
Next we went for the Oiran show. Oiran is the top-ranked courtesans at Yoshiwara, the official red light district. They are known for their excellence on arts and cultures, including their beauty. One of our tour member has been selected to do a little performance on the stage with the Oiran… We laugh throughout the whole show as he perform as he is really good at the acting and ha sa lot of funny actions. 😛
This is our tour member…. He’s funny wearing that uniform right 😛
After the show, we went for a little walk around this Ninja village, including the mystery walk which scare my wife a lot… hehe 😛 There is a ghost house, which my wife did not dare to enter.
After the Ninja village. We went to the nearby restaurant for our lunch. It is quite health and nice as the food is steam in a bamboo & wooden container and dip in that special sauce which we almost want to buy back to Singapore
After lunch, we board the bus to our next destination Shiraoi Ainu Village. This place is so so only as there is nothing much to see there.
There is a lot of wood craft sold here. So if you are interested to buy wood craft, you could look for one here. After that, we went to our next destination Jigokudani (also known as Hell Valley). It is located about the Noboribetsu, which display hot stream vents, sulphurous stream and other volcanic activities. The moment we reached there, we could smell the very strong smell of sulphur. There are beautiful walking trails through the woods and a 50 degrees Celsius sulphurous pond. There are also river with the hot water flowing, where you enjoy a natural food bath.
After that, we board the bus again to our resort for the night in this town. This resort is a traditional resort again, which is Tatami bed again……. sianz……. Lucky the good thing is I could go for Onsen again. This time, I went in the next day early morning.
After the usual buffet dinner, we went for a small walk around this town where we found a lot of shops which sell all kinds of stuff related to this Hell Valley. We even bought 3 bottles of flavour honey from here to bring back to Singapore. The honey is really nice, which has mango, citrus and grape flavour. 🙂 We bough some souvenir from here, including a very large size rock melon pocky.
This is where we bought our honey and honey flavour ice-cream 😛
This place is really good for relaxing holiday, where you could walk down the street full of shops and have a relaxing bath the Onsen. After the walk, we went back to rest for the night. 🙂
